January Freezer Cooking

Freezer meal-palooza continues into 2015! And continues to grow in popularity as every single month somebody has questions about how we organize our group or what we do. Man, am I thankful for every person that is part of our group and how enthusiastic, flexible and enjoyable they are to do this with. This month we made 14 sets of 10 meals – our assemblers paid $87 each and we “sold” four sets of meals at $120. We plan to do a couple more next month as those really help drive the cost down.

Even with a couple of delays to start our morning, once we got going it took us just over 90 minutes to assemble ALL our meals. We get more efficient every single month. A couple months ago we did chicken nuggets and we’ve switched to chicken tenders (don’t have to cut the chicken up). We ALWAYS do our meatballs with veggies but this month we tried just putting it in loaf-form and are doing meatloaf with veggies instead. WAY less time to assemble. Same with our other recipes. Just keep hammering away at efficiency.

We had a total of 11 assemblers this month, including one assembler’s dad and another’s mother-in-law. Thankful for the extra help!
